[GP/PARI-2.1.0] arithmetic weirdness |
Hi, Is the following an expected behavior ? GP/PARI CALCULATOR Version 2.1.0 (released) i686 running linux (ix86 kernel) 32-bit version (readline v4.0 enabled, extended help available) Copyright (C) 2000 The PARI Group PARI/GP is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License, and comes WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY WHATSOEVER. Type ? for help, \q to quit. Type ?12 for how to get moral (and possibly technical) support. realprecision = 28 significant digits seriesprecision = 16 significant terms format = g0.28 parisize = 80000000, primelimit = 1000000 (01:23) gp > 1390.48+171364.53 time = 0 ms. %1 = 172755.0099999999999999999999 (01:24) gp > nb1: Pari was compiled with gcc-2.95.2 on a Suse 6.4, and running on a P2/450 nb2: the behavior disappears if we increase the realprecision (on an ix86) nb3: same problem on Alpha 64-bit (and same rem than above) best regards, Ph.
