I have incorporated the patch in CVS (unstable branch as usual).

Since I modified it heavily to take into account Bill's remark, it would be
nice if somebody with access OpenBSD (and FreeBSD) could check that nothing
went wrong (at least it fixed architecture name under Cygwin, although this
was not my primary goal...)
