Re: MacOS 26 build problem

I ignored/missed your question in your first reply.

I did not set LDFLAGS.  However, after checking with ‘env’, I see it is set, and includes that pesky definition.  I can’t be sure, but my only guess now is that it comes from building Sage with the new conda/mamba scheme.

In any case, I reran the build, and it succeeded.

I’ll try out 2.18.1 alpha tomorrow.

Thanks for tracking that down!

Justin

Hi,

Just getting started with macOS 26.  I downloaded Pari 2.17.4, and ran this command to build:

./Configure --with-readline=/usr/local --with-gmp=/usr/local --tune --mt=pthread
make all

After a bit, the build blew up with this complaint:

ld: unknown option: -Wl,-headerpad_max_install_names

Full build output attached in case it helps.

Could you also try PARI 2.18.1 which was released recently ?
2.17.4 does not work reliably with pthread.
